I took multiple shots of this view to observe the effects of the metering modes on my 350D. The result is that partial metering (with the focus point on the left building) is much more effective than evaluative metering, especially in the rendition of the clouds; with partial metering the sky has more contrast (and looks much more like my own memories of the scenery). The drawback is that the dark areas, e.g. the trees, are a bit darker this way.
(A database problem with my webhost made Urban Zebra unreachable yesterday. Sorry for the inconvenience.)
Update (April 14th): As suggested by Simon, here’s a new version of the shot focused more tightly on the buildings (it’s a digital zoom of the original picture). What do you think?

Comments
the composition of shot is quite appealing with the symmetry of the buildings’ position and the trees in the foreground forming a wedge pointing at them.
I like the symmetry too. I wonder if you could have zoomed in far enough to capture just the two buildings and sky.
I dig it! It really brings out the character of the buildings more.
