Col de la Coulette

Col de la Coulette, Alpes, France – August 2005

Alpes, day two: Expedition to the ‘col de la Coulette’, 2362 meters (that’s 7749 feet for you metric-impaired). Quite harsh given that it was our first mountain walk since a long, long time. Yet we made it to the top (as proved by the photo), exhausted but happy. Much appreciated at the end of the day: the swimming pool near our hotel! :)

The whirlpool tub in our hotel room was much appreciated after we attained our highest peak to date, a paltry 1917 meters when we climbed Mount Washington last year. I wish we had views as clear as this - what a treat to see these Alpen scenes!
