Dodeigne Fountain

Lille, winter 2004

Cropping this shot was more tricky than expected. I would have liked the sculpture to be more visible without hurting the eye. I’m not happy with the greenish area between the small fountains and the water, either. What do you think?

Great subject but you’re right about it being a tricky shot. Maybe crop the left some more to remove the tree and again on the right to balance the image? I think that would bring more focus to the sculptures and the green tends to stick out less I think.

This is pretty cool. The slow shutter has the water almost looking like the rock ‘pillars’. A personally enjoy the composition and exposure. Well done…

one of the better night shots ive seen in a while =) great color and exposure on this one!
in terms of the cropping, i would crop some of the dead space above, but i think you did a fantastic job with such an interesting non-symmetrical scene!
