Bastille day fireworks, Dijon — July 14th 2005
On July 14th French commemorate their Bastille day; as seems to be the case in many countries, the national holiday is celebrated with fireworks at night. Ten days ago the fiancee and I went off to the lake in Dijon where these fireworks are shot while some music is playing in the background. The show was great and thanks to my tripod and release cable I was able to get some colorful shots that will be published this week. Hope you’ll like them!
In other news, Urban Zebra’s layout has been updated (once again). There’s also a new feature that I expect you to like: by clicking the Random link in the black banner at the top of each page you’ll be directed to an arbitrary image previously published on UZ. Use and abuse!

Nice on the redesign - lean and subtle.
Awesome fireworks capture! I almost didn’t notice the trees in the frame. Looking forward to more ![]()

Gotta love long exposures, very well captured too, perfectly exposed. I never noticed the tree outline until Turf mentioned it, even more interesting IMO…

I love the fireworks at Lac Kir. I was there a year ago, and I took quite a few shots as well… but mine did not come out as well as yours. But I suppose it’s a success if you got ONE really good picture, right? I loved reminescing while looking at your photographs.
