Lille – Last weekend

This sculpture is displayed in Lille’s fine arts palace, which can be seen reflected in a previous shot. I was so busy looking for an interesting point of view that I didn’t notice the work’s title nor its author. I feel so lame sometimes…

Anyway. The colors in the original picture were interesting but I think the subject stands out much better in black and white. I just wish the lady’s face had more contrast.

I shot other sculptures displayed in the same room and I’ll post some of the photos this week. Hope you’ll like them. (Thanks to Lille’s fine arts palace, by the way. They allow people to use cameras inside the building as long as flash is disabled, which is fine by me.)

What a lovely shot. And I think your decision on making this picture BW was a good decision because there are so much lines flowing (not sure if I?m making any sense). This is probably just personal preference thing but I wish the background would have been a little bit more out of focus by using a shallower DOF.

I’m hoping my last comment came out alright. If not, I think this shot is fantastic as it is. Really impressive :-)

Absolutely amazing sculpture and I love the angle and lighting that you captured on it. I might have blurred the background for effect on this one.

That really does stand out beautifully from the background.

I love the lighting in this shot, very dramatic and well done! Good choice with the perspective as well.

I definitely prefer this photo to the two of Doubt, the lighting is better - more shadows and contrast, both with the background and the texture of the sculpture itself. (Can you tell I’m looking through in reverse order? :p)
