Music fest — Versailles, June 21st 2005

Each year on June 21st, when evening falls, French gather in the streets to listen to all the amateur musicians who take over the towns for the night. This event celebrates the beginning of the summer in a festive and popular way.

This image is my entry for the Photo Friday ‘Orange’ challenge. It was shot at the side of a stage where a band called Lilo (or something approaching, I’m not sure I heard it well when the singer pronounced it) was getting ready to play.

I really like all of your work, but this one especially appeals to me for its more abstract nature. I agree with the other commenter that it’s well spotted — one of those things many people might pass right by but instead became a really beautiful photograph.
