Nouvelle Bourse at Night
Lille, spring 2004.
Night photography is great. You can achieve satisfactory results with a point-and-shoot camera, a tripod, a bit of luck, and almost no technical knowledge. (Of course, with some talent you can get wonderful shots.)

I love night shots since they often work in areas that make for dull daytime shots. They are always a surprise, given the range of colors that your camera can find. A lot of folks view it as advanced technique, but like you said- it’s a lot easier than you think. A very nice shot, thanks for sharing.

Well, I have to say that the winter times are mostly too cold for me - but the good part is that one does not have to wait until the middle of the night to take some wonderful shots… The colours are amazing -> very well done!

Very nice, and what a great eye for spotting this as a night scene. The different colors of the tower are spectacular! If I may make a suggestion, though, I think I would recommend less exposure, because it looks to me like some parts of this image are blown out, resulting in loss of detail in the architecture (especially the parts of the building bathed in white light). Perhaps you can recover this from the original file? Also, when I’ve taken similar night shots, I’ve usually had to use exposure compensation (anywhere between -1 and -2), because just going with the camera’s selection typically gives me an overexposed result. I’m curious, what camera do you use?
