The Harrow

f/2.6, 1/6 sec

Going on with utensil experiments. I’m not sure about this one. The colors and focus are good, but I believe the composition might have been stronger with more vertical and horizontal lines. What do you think?

I like how you’ve used the background to introduce strong reds and yellows. I like the idea of this curved ‘tube’ of forks, but I think I might like a stronger curve, or perhaps a diagnol.

I had to smile when I saw this, knowing exactly what you were up to. I saw this one before the previous day’s post where you mention our “utensils” theme. I’m happy it has caught on with others!

I agree with ViSuaLLyMiNDeD, that this curved “tube” idea is great and that the colored background really adds to the punch. But I do also think you need something more…. though I don’t really know what. Maybe putting the yellow line parallel to the tube (underneath) it? Maybe separating the forks just a little but so there’s more of a tube? I dunno. This is a cool idea anyway!

I like the colors as they are, and agree with ViSuaLLyMiNDeD that a diagonal composition (rotate the photo 30 degrees) would have been more effective to use the available space (now there is too much uniform color on the top and bottom of the image).

I agree this is a good idea. I wonder what it would look like shot through the tube formed by the row of interlocking forks, rather than from the outside.
