Lille’s Fine Art Palace – A few days ago

I think I love sculptures. They make for great photographic subjects and if the result is bad you can always blame the artist. As for this shot I really like it though it would be better if the bright zones on the arms were less obvious and if the background was a bit blurred (ah… how life would be easy with a digital SLR…). What do you think?

Side note: I followed an advice from luminouslens and started using del.icio.us to bookmark the interesting photoblog posts I come across. I love the simplicity of the idea and its effectiveness (del.icio.us really is a snap to use). Go on and check out the photoblog-posts stream (also available as an RSS feed). More details are also available on the blog.photoblogs.org post that started it all.

I think this is fabulous. Do you happen to know the artist of the sculpture by the way? It’s really beautiful.

I love sculptures also. A digital SLR sometimes doesn’t give you the DOF that you want. Maybe a change in Fstop will help there. Fixed lenses also give good DOF.

The photograph is beautiful!
