Dijon, Burgundy – Autumn 2004
The owl is a local celebrity in Dijon. It’s carved in a wall of the Notre Dame church and is supposed to act as a lucky charm to anyone that strokes it with the left hand. It was restored in 2001 after someone damaged it, which explains the red and black lines that run through the stone.

Trying really hard to see the owl, but it looks more like the underside of a turtle’s head and neck to me.
It was restored in 2001 after someone damaged it
So how many years bad luck does one get for damaging an owl? ![]()
